Our piano course for kids introduces young children to the world of music, helping establish a foundation for musical ability. We assist our young students with improvement in coordination and in the development of good practicing habits. How long does a private piano lesson last?
Our 1-on-1 private lessons last 30 minutes once a week—just long enough for young students to stay fully engaged, excited, and focused without fatigue. Advanced students can opt for 45 or 60-minute sessions.
What ages are accepted for piano lessons?
We accept students starting from age 3 to adults! Our Little Mozarts curriculum is tailored specifically for ages 3–6, while our older youth and adult programs adapt to individual musical goals.
Can I start in the middle of a semester?
Yes, absolutely! NewSong operates on year-round enrollment. You can begin lessons at any point during the semester, and our instructors will tailor the repertoire pacing so your child steps in smoothly without feeling behind.
Do I need to own my own acoustic piano?
No acoustic piano required to start! We recommend having a standard 61 or 88-key touch-sensitive keyboard at home for daily 10-minute practice. During their weekly lessons at NewSong, students play on our Yamaha grand and upright pianos.
What is your cancellation and makeup policy?
We require 24 hours’ advance notice to receive a makeup lesson credit. Please refer to our studio policy handbook provided upon registration.
